...on the way out, asswipe!

Quote
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) is leaving Congress in January to lead the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

DeMint, a staunch conservative who often clashes with party leadership, was reelected to a second term in 2010. He will depart before the new Congress is sworn in next month.  “I’ve decided to join The Heritage Foundation at a time when the conservative movement needs strong leadership in the battle of ideas,” DeMint said in a statement. “My constituents know that being a Senator was never going to be my career.”

The senator, a vocal advocate for term limits, had already pledged not to seek a third term.

That kinda surprised me..

but I guess when you're offered that kind of money.. you take it..

word was he wasn't one of the wealthy congressmen and was getting the standard $174,000 a year, while the last guy who had the job he's taking at Heritage made like $1 million a year.. so I'd go too..

Oh thank god! Another fucking think tank. Can't have enough of those. How about keeping basic fucking infrastructure reliable.

Jim DeMint, in any high ranking role, of an organization that purports itself to be a Think Tank/Scholarly Group, just told the whole world..."Ok, we're obliterating any pretense that we're a group of academics or that we aren't ideological...BOO-YA!  Bring on the tin foil hats...it's party time!"
