What a scam! As the caption says, how many poor families would this money have fed?
The Effingham CrossI don't know what's worse: Thousands of non-Christian travelers that have to look at that atrocity or the 1.1 million dollars that could have been put to better use in their community. Nearly 10% of Effingham's 12,400 residents live below the poverty line. Praise Jesus, they have about 1200 people that are hungry and living in squalor....but check out that awesome fucking cross they get to look at for inspiration every day!
