buh-bye Obama election win, mandate, political capitol.. don't know why we thought he'd stick to what he ran on and was elected on..
buh-bye payroll tax cut.. we'll give it to people making 250-400K a year instead, they're the ones who really need that 2% break in taxes..
buh-bye child tax/earned income/student loan credit in 5 years.. we had to give the upper echelon
permanent
tax cuts instead..
Quote
What I'm not going to do is to extend Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% that we can't afford and, according to economists, will have the least positive impact on our economy," the president said
buh-bye any hope of rallying your base again..
Quote
When asked whether closing loopholes instead of raising rates would be satisfactory, the president responded,
"when it comes to the top 2%, what I'm not going to do is to extend further a tax cut for folks who don't need it, which would cost close to a trillion dollars. And it's very difficult to see how you make up that trillion dollars, if we're serious about deficit reduction, just by closing loopholes in deductions. You know, the math tends not to work."
The deal passed by the Senate would cap itemized deductions for individuals making $250,000 and for married couples making $300,000.
Raising the threshold for higher tax rates to $400,000 shrinks the number of Americans affected. While nearly 2% of filers have adjusted gross incomes over $250,000,
only 0.6% have incomes above $500,000, according to the Tax Policy Center.
we'll just make the difference up by raising payrolls taxes on those making >$110,000.. they don't really need that extra $40 a paycheck..
I get that there had to be concessions since we're held hostage by a fanatical group of sociopaths whose only goal is to stop gov't, not fix it or work with it, but kill it in a bathtub... BUT. When you actually campaign on a once-sourly-thought of, socialist/populist idea of say, making the wealthy pay a little more so the little guy could catch up.. and you not only win, you win resoundingly as does your entire party all the way down to local results.. when you even have 50+% approval, from the other party's populous on this idea and +60% in your own..how in the utter fuck do you not get your way?
and how do you deal away the child tax credit/earned income credit, tuition credit.(in 5 year)?
Game, Set, Match and win to McConnell..
now lets watch Boehner cluster fuck it even more now that they know Obama's ready to cave on what he ran on..Hell, Lindsey Grahm knew it the other day when he said
Quote
But Graham said he won't support a package that raises rates on income between $250,000 and $400,000 or $500,000, because he knows Democrats will cave and accept a higher threshold. He used the example of his fellow guest, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).
"
No," he said when asked if he'd support the $250,000 level, "because she's willing to go for more, and why would I not find 4 or 500, because I know the votes are there
for 4 or 500? But in the House, will the votes be there for 4 or 500?"
Feinstein flinched and, when pressed, put the onus back on the president, who was the first to raise the compromise level to income over $400,000. "We believe that the 250 threshold is the appropriate threshold. The president did make an offer, we understand, of 400,000, with a trillion in cuts accompanying it. That was turned down by the House," she said. "The time has come really to measure the absence of a deal against a deal. ... We have to solve this immediate situation."
Asked whether she'd accept the higher level, Feinstein was quick to answer. "I could certainly live with it,"
she said.
You won the election.. but you can live with losing what you ran on? even when the party who just lost what they ran on says to you "I'm still not budging.. because I know you're a pussy who will"..
can't say I'm surprised.. coming off the re-upping of warrant-less wiretaps over the weekend..no, I can't say I'm surprised at all

It's the spineless pussy party. I just don't get it. Go to fuckin war with those cocksuckers. Draw the fuckin line in the god damned sand. And it will probably be what keeps Hilary out of it because she'll say "what's the fuckin point even if you win?" unless the economy goes nuts but then somehow they'll take/get credit for that as well. It's simple! Not raising taxes on those above $400k, getting rid of the earned tax credit, etc. is what provided the stimulus for the recovery. BANG!

Life inside the bubble... must be such a "special" place!
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
Obama and the Democrats are laughing at the deal they just made...the Republicans got nothing!
I am a Republican...but the Republicans may be the worst negotiators in history!

I'm really sick and fuck and tired of the "Well...what cha gonna do?" attitude, even with a strong ass majority supporting the message that won President Obama a second term. I mean REALLY fuck'in tired of it. So instead of 1.6 or 1.2 trillion towards fixing our ills...eh, we'll bump it down to 715 billion, fuck the middle, poor, elderly, disabled, children and students some more...and get back to this later in 2 months. What in the ever living fuck is wrong with us? If you're going to fuck everyone I listed above...AT LEAST...make the fucking worth it.
I know President Obama's a centrist, he always has been. Sometimes I'm guilty of imagining him leaning further left that he actually does. I've said as much here in more than one post. BUT...He's the arbitrator. The mediator...I get it. He wants to find something reasonable in every situation. Something that makes all involved feel like their part of the process, discussion, and outcome. That's fan-fuckin-tastic. But...this is politics...and as much as compromise is part of almost every single deal done in Washington...compromise swings in your god damn favor when the majority's got your back, otherwise, you just shit all over that enthusiasm and support.
The House could put this up to a vote tonight. What if they decide to amend the bill? That makes what the Senate agreed to absolutely fuck'in worthless, unless they agree with the amended, and the balls back in their court...and they could be leaving TONIGHT! The new Congress HAS to be sworn in on the 3rd...a new house, with a bunch of noobs and we start all over again. Now they just said sources indicated Cantor isn't on board. Cantors still chumming around with the fringe and I have no doubt he's work'in them all up into a frenzy through secondary and third party contacts...so he can keep his hands clean, like he always does. They don't call that fucker The Weasel for nothing.
President O should have been doing media addresses every damn night, up to this point. (Unrealistic, but it is my rant). Making it painfully clear what his message was and how the majority agreed with that message. Make sure every asshole in the house and senate knew, no matter how much they appeared on Fox, they were grossly outnumbered by the majority of the American public...drill it into their little bubble heads, until that bubble fuck'in popped.
The problem is, there's no real price to pay for being a horrible fuck'in congressperson or senator. You play ball with the lobbyists and donors and there's never a down side. Only serve one term? No problem...they'll fuck'in hire you at 3 or 4 times what you were making. Fuck you Washington. Served more than a term and really understand what's going on behind closed doors? Hell, we'll make it 5 or 6 times, welcome aboard! Fuck you Washington. And if they don't directly hire you, they'll put you in touch with someone who will. Fuck you Washington. You were disgraced? Not a Problem...we got ya covered. There is zero penalty. In real life, if you fuck yourself, your standing within a particular professional work dynamic, you're screwed. You either have to start over and re-earn that trust, slink along hopefully unnoticed, or just look towards something new where people won't hopefully recognize you, your name or remember what a douche bag you were. Not in Washington. The doucheier...the better...we got a place for ya bud.

No not crazy, he should have a press conference every fucking day describing what the obstructionists are up to even if nothing happened. Tell people that. They did nothing for the American people yet once again today. We'll see if the do anything tomorrow. There's a reason they call it the fuckin "bully pulpit".

None of you are more liberal than me. Yet I'm the one who's also a realist. I still trust the presidents agtions.
I hope I'm not proven wrong, but when the house votes no tonight, with Cantor at the helm, look for Obama to shoot to kill.
By proving his willingness to work with these nutcases, he'll have the case to get everything we want. If not, maybe next time.
Of course, if he was white, we wouldn't have this problem.

That's just it tho... he
was
out there all this last week giving PC's every other day it seemed like..he even went out on 'meet the press' this past sunday.. and then McConnell and Boehner would get their time to and say "He's lying, he's threatening us, being mean.. saying he gets this and that for free after all we've given him".. Hell Boehner's canned reply came to
'the House GOP has voted this issue months ago, if the President was serious, he'd tell Reid to vote for what we already approved".
.
and never once did anyone say "uh, mr speaker.. your party didn't actually win the election..so your all GOP- no Dem- support bill? It doesn't really mean shit....Now shouldn't you be out there working with the party and president who won? Getting the agenda that the country voted on passed?"
Boehner wants to be re-elected speaker also.. he needs Cantor for that.. That's why he's been dragging his ass on this.. if those 50 sociopath,tea-party,Norquist sycophants don't like the way he fucks it to Obama.. they won't vote to retain him as speaker..
I mean, have the planets ever aligned for Dems this way? Not only can you force the GOP into being the "tax the poor,elderly,young,job-less and middle class.. to save the millionaire's 3%" party loud and crystal-fucking-clear.... but you can actually add in "watch the GOP leadership let the country default because he wants to save his House assignment" party to boot!..
a swwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiinggg and a Miiisssssssssssss!
Pelosi's already promised to get the Dems to Vote for the senate's bill.. Boehner can't convince his side to give shit.. and why should they? Obama will give up more..
I just don't get it.. how do you deal away earned income/child tax/tuition/pay roll tax cut.. that's the entirety of your base.. not everyone in the base is in one of those brackets, but they understand the need for them and are willing to cough up the extra amount for that bracket to bounce back.. It's like saying
"Ok, we're going to ban abortion, ban women's health issues, ban birth control and ban maternity leave for this health bill..but hey, we got GOP and Dem support Yeeeaa for me! I'm the bi-partisan president"
... wtf? He will never be the "bi-partisan" president.. they will stand up at his next SOTU and shout "You lie" again.. they will call for his Birth Cert again, they will say he's killing the country, bad for the economy, weak on Syria and Iran and wants to see Israel and babies die..
Chuck, it's not 'centrist'.. it's clinical..
and
Howie, gays had better hope he doesn't take up 'gay marriage'...they better hope HRC does.. or else you guys will not only
not
be allowed to marry, you'll literally be regulated to jumping the broom just because it makes Mitch McConnell laugh to see you do it.... Oy Vey!

This
was
the next time..
and no, it had nothing to do with black or white.. we've seen 'angry black man' and we've liked it.. this had to do with him setting up his legacy.. because he still thinks the GOP will somehow find a way to 'like' him if he continues to bend over.. he hasn't figured out they only 'like' those who bash them over the fucking head and drag them into a cave and butt-fuck them for good measure..

I'm not worried about that. In the eyes of the city and county we are, we have a paper that says so. In the eyes of our friends and family (even my super pub brother who's finally come around but not the "ex"), we already are. This spring we'll go to NY and make it official after 14 years. But I'll be damned if I'm going up there until all that snow's gone. Jb's mom skyped us yesterday showing us all the snow. No effing way!
