I suspect (my opinion mind you) that Mr. Jones would be the same regardless of the time line of American History he was born into. There isn't a decade or century that this country has been free of some kind of turmoil or issues of the day. He's a sensationalist, whose chosen method of communication use to be wild speculative intrigue, it's possible implications and anxiety riddled concerns based on those conspiracies. It has since morphed into unadulterated fear and paranoia that, depending on who's drinking the most kool-aid, has a higher than average chance of getting someone (or several) hurt...or worse.
Now I'm not sure if he always bought what he was selling or if at some point he just decided to say fuck it and jump in with both feet...but either way...he's all in now. We're either seeing someone who's decide to up the ante and commit like a muther fucker, who knows their full of shit and always have been...or someone who turned off the control valve on their terror awhile ago...and we're just now seeing it's full results.
