That's the screaming headline on Drudge as one of Obama's orders today deals with physicians addressing guns in homes.

But its ok to deputize teachers and have them pack a gun?

That's a great point.

when I saw the headline I was like "wtf? isn't that what the NRA has been preaching as the only 'cure' since the shooting?"

and then I wondered where the headline "GOP'ers looks like fucking chicken-little-retards after making fools of themselves over losing their fucked up minds anticipating blackie-McPresident stealing their guns!"

I mean the rhetoric lately.. besides coming dangerously close to demanding someone, anyone to please pull an Oswald.. has just been stupid violent..

-rand paul.."I don't like Kings! And I promise you, there’ll be no rock left unturned as far as trying to stop him from usurping the Constitution, running roughshod over Congress."

-Texas congressmen "We'll arrest any fed who tries to implement whatever EO Obama gives"

-another congressmen (or maybe it was the same one) "I"m drawing up Impeachment proceeding right now"

-random youtube idiot "We need to shoot anyone who wants to take our guns"

-Alex Jones "1776 IS COMING MOTHERFUCKER"

to 6-1/2 dozen or another high profile freaks saying the same thing... and this is what they've lost their ever-loving minds over?
Quote
1. "Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system."

2. "Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system."

3. "Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system."

4. "Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks."

5. "Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun."

6. "Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers."

7. "Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign."

8. "Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission)."

9. "Issue a presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations."

10. "Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement."

11. "Nominate an ATF director."

12. "Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations."

13. "Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime."

14. "Issue a presidential memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence."

15. "Direct the attorney general to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies."

16. "Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes."

17. "Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities."

18. "Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers."

19. "Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education."

20. "Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover."

21. "Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges."

22. "Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations."

23. "Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health."

oh you go girl. Lose your fucking shit.. that's right, lose it..

fuck-me.. Obama just made them look like fucking children.. again!

I wonder if the NRA will pull their "Obama's an elitist, hypocrite" ad  since he gave them the mental health stuff AND more funding for cops in schools?

naaa.. can't imagine any of them backing off even a little.. none of them ever did back peddle the HRC shit they made up either did they? so no, they won't back down an inch..and they'll still try and have him assassinated before the year's out...

23 Executive Orders? Why do we have the Legislative Branch again? What about checks and balances? How about we just dump this republic for a dictatorship. That'll make things easier.

um..

did they read the EO's?  allowing states to skirt HIPPA privacy laws to report crazy-people  to states looking for background checks?

making cops run backgrounds on all seized guns?

allowing states to share background check information?

reviewing gun locks standards?

that? Those right there are dumping the republic for a dictatorship? seriously?

I want to start a petition to secede from stupid.

You know what the fringe saw when they read each item? 1 thru 23?..."The black helicopters are coming...oh fuck'in shit...it's war!"

That ad, that ad of woefully false equivalency ran by the NRA, wasn't even laughable...it was god damn scary.  Why? Because some paid PR firm came up with that shit and like the terrified zealots and sheep that the fringe are SO convinced everyone else is who isn't them, to them...they just heard a very plausible and sensible question, "Yes...why indeed does the President get to have all manner of fire power and protection for his children, while I, the everyday citizen, can't expect equal protection for my children? Why am I being barred from trying to offer similar protections for my family?"  Really? I mean really...we're going to have to go there?

This makes perfect fucking sense in their heads.  The dichotomy is stark and glaring to them.  This only works with President Obama in office though.  It isn't because they JUST thought of this line of reasoning now...it's been floating around for years. I know...because I've heard the EXACT same shit, when I use to do the gun shows with my ex step-dad.  The concept isn't new...it was just never used because if it had been aired as a *legitimate* counter/pondering in gun control debates...the person who brought that shit to the discussion would have been laughed out of the room.  The NRA didn't DARE go into that territory as form of justification.  But with a Secret Muslim, socialist, marxist, communist, totalitarian dictator for President?..."Oh fuck yea!...let's do this! That dirty, heathen Muslim's better than me? That fuck'in socialist, marxist, communist is better than my God drenched American kids? Oh Fuck No!"

And so...the party starts.  Yee-fucking-haw.

It's more than insane and sickens me.

I'd love to see the children of those conspiracy nuts gunned down. Would they say it's a conspiracy too?

"First, we believe in absolutely gun-free, zero-tolerance, totally safe schools. That means no guns in America’s schools, period … with the rare exception of law enforcement officers or trained security personnel."

You know who said that? The 1999 version of Executive Vice President and CEO of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre.

The 2012/13 version said...

“Politicians pass laws for Gun-Free School Zones. They issue press releases bragging about them. They post signs advertising them. And in so doing, they tell every insane killer in America that schools are their safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.“

Hmmmm, I wonder what was different then, than it is now?

Ohhhhh, that's right, we didn't have a secret terrorist Muslim at the helm of legislation and policy, that hardly a single citizen gave a peep about prior to his Presidency.  The truly amazing thing is...these fringe nutbags cannot see how painfully transparent they are to the mainstay of society.  They truly believe their terror and angst manifests from an honest to goodness place of legitimate concern and even better...they will swear on their dear mother's head not an ounce of the provocation is supplied by irrational rhetoric and strong undercurrents of prejudice (more than one type).  They're type of agitation and fear can never be quelled, no matter how many guns they own...ever.  Well...maybe a little...when that Muslin is out of office.

wow... great find...  it is truly amazing how he's changed his position so radically..

if it wasn't so serious.. it'd be comical. I mean, it's become a 'late-night' joke at this point.. "what position does the GOP have? Easy, the exact opposite of Obama". it doesn't matter if it was their position yesterday, today... if he says he likes the idea, they're against it...vehemently against it..

a cpl years ago the joke was "If Obama cured cancer  the Drudge headline would be 'Obama puts doctors out of business' ".. and we have finally reached that point

since the shooting the NRA and their paid spokesmen have been on every talking head show, radio and TV, in the country pushing the idea that we just need guns in school and more mental health laws.. and like Howie started this thread with, when Obama gives them exactly that.. it's a screaming OMFG!! Drudge headline "Obama Deputizes Doctors!" and "I'll arrest any fed who tries to give me money for cops in my school, who does this King think he is giving me everything I asked for!"..

I wonder when we'll reach critical mass.. when the actual tipping point will come and the GOP will be so irrevocable damaged that they'll never be able to recover any semblance of a non-extremist party..
