You know what the fringe saw when they read each item? 1 thru 23?..."The black helicopters are coming...oh fuck'in shit...it's war!"
That ad, that ad of woefully false equivalency ran by the NRA, wasn't even laughable...it was god damn scary. Why? Because some paid PR firm came up with that shit and like the terrified zealots and sheep that the fringe are SO convinced everyone else is who isn't them, to them...they just heard a very plausible and sensible question, "Yes...why indeed does the President get to have all manner of fire power and protection for his children, while I, the everyday citizen, can't expect equal protection for my children? Why am I being barred from trying to offer similar protections for my family?" Really? I mean really...we're going to have to go there?
This makes perfect fucking sense in their heads. The dichotomy is stark and glaring to them. This only works with President Obama in office though. It isn't because they JUST thought of this line of reasoning now...it's been floating around for years. I know...because I've heard the EXACT same shit, when I use to do the gun shows with my ex step-dad. The concept isn't new...it was just never used because if it had been aired as a *legitimate* counter/pondering in gun control debates...the person who brought that shit to the discussion would have been laughed out of the room. The NRA didn't DARE go into that territory as form of justification. But with a Secret Muslim, socialist, marxist, communist, totalitarian dictator for President?..."Oh fuck yea!...let's do this! That dirty, heathen Muslim's better than me? That fuck'in socialist, marxist, communist is better than my God drenched American kids? Oh Fuck No!"
And so...the party starts. Yee-fucking-haw.
