Case in point:
From jb's long stint with unemployment, we already knew one little trick of Florida unemployment: In this state,
as opposed to every other fucking state (thanks Jeb!) your UC application expires after one year. Which means that you have to reapply every year.
What's wrong with that, you ask? The amount of UC you receive is based on your salary for the first three quarters of the previous year. If all you drew was UC during those three quarters, can you imagine what your UC would be?
Anyhow...the latest rape of the poor and unemployed - at the hands of the Florida legislature:

seriously, we already have I think the lowest UI rate in the country.. hell Hawaiians get something like $500 a week.. we get $719
a month... and they expect people going from $500 a week to be able to live off $700 a month? and not only are they able to 'adjust' they do so at their own pleasure because it's so grand to collect such a pittance?
how much more will we give 'business' to entice them to hire? what do they want? end of all labor laws. Children working? No minimum wage? women can be sexually harassed again? just exactly how much more do we need to give them to so they'll finally 'uncork' their 'fear and dread of Obama and his socialism' and start hiring/investing again..
