As they say, "It's the little things."
Some people just "have it." Some people, even those who make an effort, just never will. Try as they might, even with the most genuine intentions, come off forced and awkward.
If Bill and Mitt both lived in the same town, and their lives were much more modest, just regular schlubs, Bill would be the guy all the staff, owner, and regulars at the local mom and pop diner everyone ate at on Sunday...shot the shit with or warmed up to quickly if they hadn't met him yet.
Mitt would be the polite man, who while nice, was awkward to talk to beyond generalities or taking his order.
