http://healthland.time.com/2011/03/10/can-patients-get-around-the-exorbitant-new-cost-of-a-pregnancy-drug/?hpt=SbinI wonder how much Big Pharma paid congress for the right to bilk the American public. The drug has been in use for decades but thanks to the FDA branding the drug they can jack up the price. They can not claim the money is to cover research, since it has been used for decades. We are no longer a capitalist society but crony capitalism now rules the day. The sad part is the American taxpayer is on the hook for the increase due to medicare. Once again the middle class is responsible for pumping up corporate profits. No incumbents in 2012.

sure, because that's worked so brilliantly this time around..

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them. Balance is irrelevant to me. It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)

I had the same though earlier. How about we just get rid of lobbyists? Or seriously limit donations from them?

Campaign finance reform is the only way to go. Serious reform.

You guys got into bed with big Pharma to get their smoochies for "health reform". What did you expect?
You make the government so powerful that it has the power that makes it worth bribing, and lo and behold, they are bribed!
You made your bed...

Bush laid that foundation with the Medicare D bill he passed. He may as well given the keys to the treasury to Pfizer. I hate doing the hey Bush did it first thing but it illustrates how both sides of our government is bought and working for their lobbyists

Truthery. What's funny is the "Don't regulate us" guys are the ones who want drugs regulated to the extent we can't import them from other companies or allow competition between the few monopolies out there or negotiate lower drug prices for Medicare patients. Ahh....the beauty of capitalism, the Republican way!

Well Bush's Medicaid Part D was a terrible idea, that's clearly a fact. I'd be willing to support repealing it, but I'm betting I wouldn't get my takers on that.

Dear Big Pharma, Do you mind giving up your government supported monopoly? Crony Capitalism FTW. Signed The congressman/women you give millions to every year. Yep don't see that happening at all.
