aka "How's that
open carry law working for ya?"
A loaded pistol was left on top of a toilet paper dispenser in a basement bathroom at the Capitol Friday. Capitol police said it had hollow-point bullets in it. One round was in the chamber and there were six more bullets in the magazine.
The gun was left there by David Evans, a staffer for House Speaker Tim Jones, R-Eureka.
House Minority Leader Jacob Hummel, D-St. Louis, says the incident shows a disregard for the safety of those who visit the capitol, which includes school children.
“Thank goodness no one was hurt,” said Hummel. “The public is not allowed to carry concealed weapons into Missouri government buildings. It’s another case of legislators thinking they are above the law.”
What if a child had found that gun?
