So people are complaining because insurance companies are canceling policies and they are blaming the ACA.
I was just thinking - a few years ago, my company changed from insurance company A to insurance company B. Well before the ACA. Well, B was out of network for my local clinic and hospital; so I lost access to my prior doctors unless I wanted to pay more. My mammograms at the hospital weren't covered (in spite of the ACA covering preventive care) because the hospital was out of network (next nearest facility for mammograms is an hour's drive away).
Luckily my favorite PA moved to a practice in town that DID take company B insurance...but that was just luck.
And now - my company is moving back to insurance company A. My clinic/hospital will be in network again. Yea!
So insurance changes. Stuff happens. It happened before the ACA, it will happen after the ACA.
But I keep forgetting ... it's "all Pres Obama's fault"...
These insurance companies knew beforehand that if their policy didn't comply with the ACA, i.e., not allowing wellness testing or preconditions, that they would have to change the policy and offer a new one to the customer.
It's all semantics. One man's "cancelled" is another man's "replaced".
