I don't understand. If the Republican message is so powerful, why do they have to lie to get votes?

Quote
At least 15 websites that appear to be official campaign sites for Democratic candidates, are actually the handiwork of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

In an effort to improve their online efforts this election season, the NRCC’s digital team came up with what the group believes is a great idea: get out the Republican message through fake Democrat sites.

“The idea is people who are looking for information on the candidate, one of the places we all go now is online and so this is a way for folks to find out more about the candidates and information they may not find on the candidate’s own site,” said Daniel Scarpinato, the NRCC's press secretary.

The NRCC bought up hundreds of URLs on potential weak Democratic candidates and created sites that mimic the real ones.

It's the, "It's not illegal, quit your belly ache'in, they should read it all, hahaha, dumbasses", mentality rationalizing their duplicitous behavior in the buyer beware framework.

See, it's not on me to prove that myself or my item are what I say or imply they are...it's on you to figure out for yourself if they are.  Which is exactly how things were until Teddy Roosevelt said, "Fuck this shit.  This product better be or do exactly what you say it does or your ass will be in court for misleading or false  statements.

How this bullshit is still legal, I don't know.

that is a real sad tactic. Shows how desperate they are though. But yeah, shouldn't be legal. I hope in those districts where they did the fake websites it's blared throughout the district what cowards they are.

Lying is just part and parcel with the word GOP these days.. The day Sarah Palin was found guilty of ethics violation in the case where she used her power to abuse her sister's ex husband... she went out on the stump and said "Well, I’m very, very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there.”   I mean, she said this on the very day the report said she was guilty..

but did anyone notice or call her on it? nope. to do so is slanted journalism..

it's like what's going on now with the CBo saying obamacare will cost $1trillion less, increase demand for jobs and allow 2 million people the freedom of staying home more instead of being forced to work.. the GOP has turned it around that the ACA will force 2 million people out of work, will cost $1 trillion more and of course, kill jobs...and they're saying this on the same day the man who wrote the report testified before congress that they're utterly lying about whats in t...but this is such a wonkish issue, that they know they can say whatever they want and the only ones who will notice are the one who won't vote for them anyway..

all yo hear right now is how the ACA is killing jobs..but the cbo says 2 million people will decide to leave their jobs and stay home.. OMG, FReedom!!!  How evil of Obama to give 'merica something like that...  what it means is someone who was forced to work instead of staying home with the kids, can now stay home.. a person with health issues who was forced to work to keep the insurance, can now stay home and get healthy... it's not a loss in the availability of jobs but instead it will reduced the supply of labor.. which is a good thing

it's so extreme that a respectable journalist (altho I can't remember his name right now-lol) said.in essence.. "The Dems have always been slow on the uptake when it comes to outright lying.. and they always expect the Reps to be more honest.. the Dems really need to start fighting fire with fire"...  I mean holy shit, a respected journalist advocating lying to the public just to make things fair? Just how far have we fallen?

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)
