Do they really think that when they spout stupid shit like this it just wafts off into the air, never to be repeated?

Quote
In a 1995 letter in the Sun Journal in Lewiston, a reader quoted a press statement by Lockman, then part of the Pro Life Education Association, saying, “If a woman has (the right to an abortion), why shouldn’t a man be free to use his superior strength to force himself on a woman? At least the rapist’s pursuit of sexual freedom doesn’t (in most cases) result in anyone’s death.”

That might be one of the most insane attempts at false equivalency/comparison/out-of-touch statements I have come across in a long time...dated or not.  How old was he when he was quoted saying that?  I'll assume he was 11 or 12. Seven maybe?

I mean it was literally a double take moment as I read it..."If a woman has (the right to an abortion), why shouldn’t a man be free to use his superior strength to force himself on a woman? At least the rapist’s pursuit of sexual freedom doesn’t (in most cases) result in anyone’s death"...what in the fuck'in-fuck?

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)
