http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/national-politics/20140610-house-majority-leader-eric-cantor-loses-gop-primary-to-tea-party-challenger.ece

I went through hell trying to find a non teabagger source. They're giddy!
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was defeated Tuesday by a little-known economics professor in Virginia’s Republican primary, a stunning upset and major victory for the tea party.

Cantor is the second-most powerful member of the U.S. House and was seen by some as a possible successor to the House speaker.

His loss to Dave Brat, a political novice with little money marks a huge victory for the tea party movement, which supported Cantor just a few years ago.

I just saw this, flipping through the channels.

Dems better get serious about November. The TP, despite various sources dismissing them, aren't broken and they're not playing.  They're coming with the same voracity they did during the 2010 elections.

So, do I dare look up Prof Brat's policy stances.  Please, please don't be a stereo typical Ayn Randian.

No he's all teabagger. And a loon. I disagree about this being a teabagger win. Middle of the road republicans will vote dem before voting for one of these nutjobs.

And while it appears there's lots of teabaggers there isn't.

I felt the same way..

on the one hand I'm happy to see Cantor go, he was a sniveling, backstabbing douche bag that has caused much of the uber-partisanship we now live under..

but on the other hand... holy shit, they found someone to right of him?

Dems better wake the fuck up.. Obama is going to need at least one house in congress to get anything done these last 2 years.. and while a raging 2014 GOP win only helps the Dems in 2016, two years under TP rule will kill any hope this country has of staying a super-power.. I mean shit, there's TP people out there right now saying we need to be more like Saudi Arabia with our laws and make them based on the bible... the TP of TX actually think they can 'cure gay'....George Will thinks getting raped is becoming the 'in' thing to happen to girls.. I could go on and on.. they're shit crazy-ppl.. just look at that cpl who killed the cops the other day and draped the bodies with a 'don't tread on me' TP flag and who were filmed at the Cliven Bundy fiasco just drooling to go after the 'over-stepping federal gov't'...

dems better wake the fuck up..

It's really sad to think people wanted someone more conservative than Cantor. Of course, primaries get the ideologues in them. But now he could end up in Congress - although at least he won't have the power that Cantor has.

We have a moderate repub running against tea-bagger McClintock in our district; will be interesting to see if the moderate can win. I'll be voting for him.

But it's scary to think there are enough tea-baggers out there to put in someone worse than Cantor

We sure do like to wait until the last possible moment before we truly address something.

I wonder how long the fringe right will be part of the house and senate before the rest of everybody else who isn't extreme is like, "heeey, ya know, maybe we should take these primaries and general elections more seriously."...?

Apathy and over confidence brought us 2010. I'd really rather we keep moving away from that instead of back towards it.

If only people paid more attention!

In our case, McClintock started sending mailers promoting the libertarian candidate in the race - made him seem liberal, trying to get dems to vote for him so the moderate repub wouldn't make it thru the top 2 primary. Of course, McClintock would win no prob against the libertarian... The moderate, Art Moore, just barely squeaked through in 2nd position. And it's all because people aren't paying attention.

Still a good chance McClintock will win ...but at least now there's a chance he'll lose.
