Well, that's one of the reasons these nutcases give for pulling their kids out of school for home indoctrination, err I mean home schooling.

Bitter also began to worry about the information being presented to her children at the traditional school. She said she prayed about what to do and felt impressed to educate her children at home.

"He just thought if we didn’t change all our light bulbs to (energy-efficient models) then the planet was going to die,

But there's more...a lot more. This is probably the most telling quote...

Quote
"I am glad my kids are not associating with other kids their age except for those that are in our general neighborhood that I approve of,"

Yeah...don't want them to see those niggrah and homo kids, huh?

Even more telling is this...

Quote
"My boys, they don’t want to go to school," she said. "They don’t want to ever go back because they get more free time when they're home. They get more play time and they don’t have to do homework after they’re done with school."

Of course, I had to sign up to reply with my concerns. They don't want to hear it.

Home schooling is appropriate when it's goal is appropriate. Taking a child out of a school because you don't agree with a particular teaching point (i.e., gay marriage or evolution) to teach hatred of your fellow man (gays) or pass off ridiculous talking points (Jesus walked with dinosaurs or Earth was created 6,000 years ago) is harmful to impressionable children and is tantamount to child abuse.

Leave the teaching to the qualified. Leave the prosetylizing to the Church.

This part amazes me -

How good exactly is their schooling? sounds like they're goofing off most of the day...

My kids didn't want to go to school either... know what I did? I said "Too F'ing bad, get up, get dressed and get on the bus"

kids need the socialization public schools give them... I can see certain grades being taught at home and it being a  good thing, but I'm  against it as a full time permanent solution..

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)
