"On Thursday afternoon, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) took to the Senate floor to rail against a Wall Street giveaway that corporate-friendly lawmakers snuck into the massive spending bill that Congress needs to pass this week in order to avert a government shutdown. The measure—which was written by Citigroup—would allow big banks like Citigroup to engage in a broader range of risky trades with taxpayer-backed money. "A vote for this bill is a vow for taxpayer bailouts of Wall Street," Warren warned in her speech. Here's the whole thing."

I'm beginning to favor Liz over Hillary in 16.

She didn't succeed, but at least they dumped the rape of kid's lunches and other things.

She, to me, is what we need as far as financial reform is concerned. I'm not sure how she'd pan out in the many other areas a President will, by virtue of the office, have on their plate, but she's proving more and more, in the financial and economic arena, to speak for and with the voice of the majority, rather than the 1 percent. She and her husband are wealthy themselves, but it hasn't made her turn her back on her constituents, or the majority as a result. It is possible to be wealthy and not become an unabashed lapdog for those, who evidently with more wealth and fortune accumulated than at ANY other time in our American History, or the History of the world, somehow need laws and legislation favoring them and their pursuit of money, even more.

There's no denying it anymore, trickle down, in the way it was proposed and what it would do, does...not...work, for the majority. It simply doesn't. It's putting more people into financial distress and collapse, to the benefit of the very few. It failed the prosperity metric for the majority. Production in this country is at an all time high. Not a historic high plotted from some other point in our history, but at an all time high. So the "lazy, non-go-getter" excuse as to why more and more people are falling by the wayside, is bullshit. Calculated, misdirecting bullshit. Our poor, who have difficulty existing in this society, aren't suppose to be the poor in Calcutta, eating dirt and snake asshole to survive, before there's a concession and acknowledgement that, "Oh hey...there might actually be some weight to that whole disparity thing", because we're not fucking Calcutta. Our poor are suppose to be different, we're America, not some friggin 3rd world country. But that doesn't mean our poor don't struggle and suffer and it drives me crazy when people do that shit. It drives me bonkers when someone says, "Well how poor can they be? They have a microwave. They have a refrigerator." Oh well that just derails the entire conversation! Boy, did you mute the shit out of my argument. Are you shitting me?
