I heard about her speech; I imagine her supporters are blustering "but the teleprompter broke!" Of course, these are the same supporters that complained when Pres. Obama used a teleprompter. And if Palin were president (oh gawd, what a nightmare!) she wouldn't have a teleprompter when meeting other heads of state.... she would have to be able to talk without one.
There is much to admire about Sarah Palin - she has done a lot, has made her way in male professions, and has balanced challenging careers with raising a family.
But does she have to be such an IDIOT while she does it???

I listened to the whole thing. Teleprompter or not, it was odd, just odd. Did she not have at least a basic working knowledge of the speech she was going to give? It reminded me of a small child, trying to string together thoughts, to make a point or overview, who hasn't yet mastered how to be concise in their expressions and relies on the adult to figure out what they're trying to say, amid all the smashed together attempts at communication.
And as Paddy said, is she really that lost if she's free balling subject matter that she's supposed to be intimate with, without a teleprompter? She was only doing a 10 minute spot, on the very topics she's supposedly entrenched in. She didn't have a go to strength she could have bullshitted on for ten minutes?
