I noticed that Darth posted this story on the muche, and crowd posted the same Bush/Chimp pic I did.
I thought they didn't want these kind of monkeyshines on the muche?
There are no separate standards.
This is a black/white issue (see what I did there?). Centuries old comparisons of the black man to the ape denigrated the black man and classified his being as closer to an ape than a white man:
Not only close to those making the comparison (after all...weren't the slaves considered "inferior"?) In 1868, Ernst Haeckel’s
Natürliche Schöpfungsgeschichte was published with this drawing depicting the black man waaay down the chain, and a white man at the top. btw - The white man, described as the "perfect", was not Greek, but German like the author.
So...yeah. It is racism. At it's worst.
