Shiloh Baptist Church receives threats via Hannity after President's Easter visit

Quote
Shiloh Baptist Church in the District said it has received threatening phone calls and e-mails after an Easter visit from President Obama and a conservative television commentator’s subsequent playing of a videotape in which the pastor said that those espousing racial prejudice do so “under the protective cover of talk radio.”

The Rev. Wallace Charles Smith said the church has received more than 100 threats since Fox News channel’s Sean Hannity aired a tape Monday of a speech Smith gave in January 2010 at Eastern University in Saint Davids, Pa.

We received a fax that had the image of a monkey with a target across is face,” Smith said. “My secretary has received telephone calls that have been so vulgar until she has had to hang up.”

Smith, who shared several of the e-mails with The Post, said he had not notified authorities but is consulting with church leaders about what to do.

On Sunday, Obama and the first family visited the church, founded in the 1860s by former slaves. On Monday, Hannity aired a clip of a speech Smith gave when he served as president of Palmer Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

“It may not be Jim Crow anymore,” Smith says in the videotape. “Now, Jim Crow wears blue pinstripes, goes to law school and carries fancy briefs in cases. And now, Jim Crow has become James Crow, esquire. And he doesn’t have to wear white robes anymore because now he can wear the protective cover of talk radio or can get a regular news program on Fox.”

Oh. There's that pesky monkey again!

I'm sure it's just a "joke". Embarrassed

well that's their whole goal isn't it? to force anyone who allows this interloper,AKA t he President, into their homes/churches/offices/life to fear for their own safety..  They've tried and fail to force Obama out by attacking him, so they'll attack his supporters..

it's the same way they do the abortion doctors.. leak their name, call them baby-killers, hope that someone will threaten that doctor to the point of stopping what is his constitutional and moral right to do, so they can win some type of 'game' they are playing.. if that doesn't happen, then they'll just amp up the rhetoric.. eventually of course some one actually gets hurt and/or killed but that's not a problem for these types of people. They just go on the offensive telling anyone who compares what they did and contrasts it against the action of a nut-ball are really the ones doing the damage..

there is no longer any doubt that this whole thing is based on Obama's color.. and people like Hannity,Trump and many many.. too many others will continue to focus on anything that points him out as 'other than'..  Trump, besides pulling the 'blacks aren't smart and can only get into school with affirm action help' card  which is on top the "I couldn't write my own books, so you're going tell me that this guy could?" card (*which btw, Maher SPANKED Breitbart with last night when he  tried the same line*), Trump has now even thrown  in the 'basketball' stereotype just to make sure, as if you weren't before, what his real issue is with this President.

I just wonder how much farther these low-types will go... and how long before respectable GOP'ers finally have enough of it and start calling these types of people out..

what is awesome though is watching Hannity back-pedal his own 'birtherism' by trying to play it off as "Oh, I never believed any of it, I always said I took him at he word".. sure Sean, you just questioned 2-3 times a night, every night, 5 nights a week, for months his birth cert and whether he was a real American.. noooooooo, you weren't on that bandwagon at all were you.. Roll Eyes

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them.  Balance is irrelevant to me.  It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)

They're not even attacking this guy over his (true) words spoken last year or they would have done it then.

They're attacking NOW because Obama went to Easter services there!

I'm sure the comparisons to Wright are already out there...

So are you blaming Hannity for the death threats?
