Really? I haven't had much of a problem but I do hate the ads. I know upgrades are inexpensive. Once we get a little more traffic I'll invest in one. |

I've been making some more changes on here today, anticipating **cough** **cough** some increased traffic soon.
Looks like the town's running a little slow. We definitely need an upgrade soon. I'll look into it.

uh...
i've yet to establish any revenue...and the budget...well...its an island
i just barely finished setting up a territory...i have no idea where exile islands mission statement is located...
an over view...plan...strategy...
this can become like a boat rather quickly...
always needing attention,maintence...and even running in top form...a potential for sinking
look...don't buy...yet...
set some guidelines bounderies....what is it you want out of this site...and how can you keep the expensise under control...
i'll live with the ad's and speed...its not like we're joe rogan or opie and anthony...
otherwise...looks great and what happened over at the muche...doh...
i wonder if they have an ammbassador program...if only this wasn't an isolated island of exile...
where the trapped can never leave...
for those here...you won't be making your connecting flight...nor will you be needing you tickets anymore

i have several times had that happen...but eh...
i have multiple tabs or pages open...sure it takes twenty seconds to load...a page sometimes
but...i just toggle between windows so it doesn't bother me...
i am however wondering if ....embbedding video's will cause a bottle neck or slow down the bored...
we may have to stop embbedding and just link the video's...

I don't know anything about servers. However, I don't see how embedding would slow the gerbil wheel down, it's still being hosted at youtube if I'm not mistaken. I was mentioning it so that ya'll would know it's not just an isolated issue. I believe that if you don't reboot weekly or whatever, that would contribute to slowness.

Nah...it's not the embedding of videos or pics. It's an entry-level server trying to keep up with the increased traffic. The muche once had the same problem. Guess I needs to send a letter... |

Aside from being accidentally directed to muche one day from somacow, I've not lurked, peaked, poked or otherwise observed. It was kind of neat to see my last post still in the battleship at the time I saw it. So in a diplomatic, objective reporter kind of way, w/out pointing fingers, what was the insurgence about, aside from my obvious star power not being there  . Oh and can you please remove captcha's for me to post... |

THIS is why I need to get some stuff fixt. I know I posted earlier: As far as the Muche is concerned: mlg decided to shut off the Politikal discussion thread. Not that it's any surprise. He's been known to do stuff like that off the cuff without no reasonable explanation whatsoever. TIME OUT! Y'all remember my stories about Muchedumberland a few years back? I think we'll have a new story on here in the next couple of days.  As far as the captchas, FooFa, they are a tool to root out spammers. For some reason they're identifying you as one...or it's taking a little long for your posts. (Sometimes that happens). Have you noticed all the spammers on the Somacow forum? The muche is rife with them. Hell...they haven't had a new member that wasn't spamming in months. So, the captchas are a good thing. Hopefully, our server will recognize you and let you through the gates easier soon. EDIT: I found out I could disable spam check on posts, so you should be free to post your spam now! |

I don't have anything on that and I have enough problems without borrowing trouble. I've noticed that people in some cases don't possess the ability to disengage personal from oversight of something like a forum. I used to joke that some of them should post in Word because they only want to see what they say. Also running a board and not having an online approachability don't go together. If you don't love what you do regarding side thing's like this which are not going to produce any income from ads then don't. I decided years ago that I was through with political talk in this structure, simply because the overwhelming majority of participants are not really interested in what anyone else has to say. In addition, social engineering plotted all the left/right nonsense to keep people chasing their tails accomplishing nothing. To illustrate further what I mean about disengaging from the whatever it is and realizing that rulers make bad lovers so to speak, if someone wants to do their own thread of current pop, much of which turns my stomach, they would be more than welcome. |
