Was there any story about the Rock at all during the time from 1983 til now ?
If not...was media protecting him...or whomever...why wasn't it a story before now ?

Perry wouldn't have been under intense scrutiny until he rose in politics. Nixon and Johnson both used the word, nigger on tapes that I've heard. I imagine with the majority of 'conservatives' it wouldn't be an issue since they are usually racist and barely even hide it.
