Don't know who Lauren Pierce is? She's some ditzy, fat, blond co-ed at the University of Texas who's the leader of the College Republicans: Just like any other stupid Republican (there's a hell of a lot of them anymore, aren't there?), Ms. Pierce thought it would be hilarious to advocate the assasination of President Obama. And, just like all those other Republicans out there, she says "it's a joke"! Hours after Pennsylvania State Police arrested a 21-year-old Idaho man for allegedly firing a semi-automatic rifle at the White House, the top student official for the College Republicans at the University of Texas tweeted that the idea of assassinating President Obama was “tempting.” At 2:29 p.m. ET, UT’s Lauren E. Pierce wrote: “Y’all as tempting as it may be, don’t shoot Obama. We need him to go down in history as the WORST president we’ve EVER had! #2012.” Pierce, the president of the College Republicans at UT Austin, told ABC News the comment was a “joke” and that the “whole [shooting incident] was stupid.” Giggling, she said that an attempted assassination would “only make the situation worse.” “Insofar as she’s a representative [of the College Republicans], maybe it shouldn’t be said, but she’s made a positive statement in a way, ” said Cassie Wright, the group’s vice president. No. Bitches. It's not a joke. You're what...nineteen, twenty?...you don't know any better? I truly hope the Secret Service carts your fat ass off to prison. I'm sure you'll make your cellmate a nice bitch. Oh. Cassie? You too.

She's fired!John Chapman, public relations director for the UT College Republicans, said the organization has asked her to resign from both of her positions because the language used in her message was contrary to their principles. “Our message is to foster professional and respectful discussion at the University,” Chapman said. “Even though we might disagree with Obama, implying or attempting to commit violence is not positive, constructive or acceptable discussion.” Chapman said Pierce was unavailable for comment about the tweet. Chapman said the public’s reaction to the tweet is a lesson for all to understand the implications of statements made on social media sites. “This is going to make people sit back and think, ‘Hey, I need to think before I post this,’” Chapman said. “What you say on Twitter is very public and can reflect on yourself and the organization you represent.”
Chapman said a temporary president will be appointed to serve until the organization’s general elections take place at the end of this semester. Cameron Miculka, vice president of the UT University Democrats, said all Texans should condemn Pierce’s tweet regardless of their political affiliation because of the potentially dangerous implications of the message. “For a UT student to joke about killing the president being ‘tempting’ is nothing short of disgraceful,” Miculka said. “What one individual might see as a joke, another may take as a challenge.” Check out the comments here: http://alcalde.texasexes.org/2011/11/lesson-learned/#comment-12565

Facts are the center. We don’t pretend that certain facts are in dispute to give the appearance of fairness to people who don’t believe them. Balance is irrelevant to me. It doesn’t have anything to do with truth, logic or reality. ~Charlie Skinner (the Newsroom)

Seems like Ms. Pierce is a member of The Leadership Institute, home of such **cough** **cough** stellar members of the Republican as Lee Atwater, Grover Norquist, Jack Abramoff, and Karl Rove. Oy! It also seems like these folks need to do a little thinking before hiring idiots to lead their little Republican group. The chairman of the Clark County Republican Party — who last month was elected president of the Young Republican National Federation — has resigned both posts, apparently in the wake of a criminal investigation.
On Tuesday afternoon, Glenn Murphy Jr. e-mailed media outlets a letter announcing his resignation from both positions, citing an unexpected business opportunity that would prohibit him from holding a partisan political office.
However, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department on Friday began investigating Murphy for alleged criminal deviate conduct — potentially a class B felony — after speaking with a 22-year-old man who claimed that on July 31, Murphy performed an unwanted sex act on him while the man slept in a relative’s Jeffersonville home.
