They're similar, although unlike Clinton, Newt didn't commit a felony as a result of it.
Wait. I had to check into this. Weren't charges dropped against both? Clinton had impeachment charges dismissed by the Senate, Gingrich had perjury charges dropped but was reprimanded for lying. So why are you lying and saying Clinton was a felon? On November 21, William J. Bennett, conservative author and nationally syndicated radio host, falsely claimed six times that former President Bill Clinton committed "perjury" or a "felony" for lying under oath. Bennett appeared on FOX Broadcasting Company's FOX News Sunday opposite Robert B. Reich, former Clinton administration Labor secretary, to discuss Clinton's legacy three days after the November 18 opening of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
As Media Matters for America has noted, the Senate acquitted Clinton on both articles of impeachment, one of which was perjury. In order for a lie under oath to amount to perjury -- as Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI) explained on the floor of the Senate on February 12, 1999 -- it must be "material" to the underlying case. U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright ruled that Clinton's deposition in the Monica Lewinsky case was immaterial to the sexual harassment suit that Paula Jones brought against Clinton. Meanwhile, looks like Newt has already committed another felony on the campaign trail! http://cnn.com/video/?/video/bestoftv/2012/01/18/exp-tsr-gin...I was honored and delighted last night when she said if she were in South Carolina, she’d vote for Newt Gingrich....
...I would ask her to consider taking a major role in the next administration if I’m president... Talking about Sarah Barracuda. Oh! I hope he makes her VP. Then our dream of President Mooselips will come true when Candice off's him for cheating on her with their poodle! Anyhow, back on track...yes, Newt violated the law with that statement: TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 29 > § 599 § 599. Promise of appointment by candidate
Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both. Can we just ship him off to Guantanamo now???

I have a comedy boner just thinking about this one. Newt would make her VP just so he could bang her.

If only Clinton, condemned Newt for cheating, all the while, Clinton cheating on his cancer riddled wife, then yeah they would be the same. thank you.. as a side note... has anyone given thought to the fact that if elected, his wife, whom he cheated with for 6 years, even using the martial bed for their romps, would be the 1st lady.. really? 1st whore? now that's family values.. I wonder what her social issue will be? Listen girls, you can fuck a married man for almost a decade and still become first lady..

Oh Please... Newt lied his ass off when questioned on something that counted, not whether or not he cheated on his wife (we'll ignore the irony for now) Ethics Panel Supports Reprimand of Gingrich By John E. Yang and Helen Dewar Washington Post Staff Writers Saturday, January 18 1997; Page A01 The House ethics committee recommended last night that House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) face an unprecedented reprimand from his colleagues and pay $300,000 in additional sanctions after concluding that his use of tax-deductible money for political purposes and inaccurate information supplied to investigators represented "intentional or . . . reckless" disregard of House rules.... Cole said he had concluded that Gi ngrich had violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him. He said the committee members were reluctant to go that far in their conclusions, but said they agreed Gingrich was either "reckless" or "intentional" in the way he conducted himself.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/govt/leadership/stories/011897.htmThat is a real issue.. not just a blow job. It's hilarious how you act all pious with that "But he lied" when it comes to Clinton but ignore the lie with it's Newt and Scooter. Both of their lies (one to investigators asking if the VP leaked a CIA agents name, and one to a committee looking into his federal violations) are real issues...that you gloss over and pretend like they mean nothing.... unlike the 'did you cheat on your wife' lie.. That's the one you hone in on, that's the one you go all 'black and white' on..that's the one that matters.. you're such a partisan hack, not unlike Newt ironically..

damnit.. I'll have to wash my brain with bleach to get that image out of my head.. have you seen her lately? she's looking horrible.. I saw her on Hannity last night, she's aged 15 years and she looks 'cunty' now instead of looking sweet and acting 'cunty'..

Funny...I read today that Newt was having an affair while all that was going on.
I guess it wasn't as bad as fucking his high school teacher, huh?

So why are you lying and saying Clinton was a felon? You are even lying when you call me a liar. Doesn't that get confusing? I didn't say Clinton was a felon. He did commit a felony though. The fact that he wasn't impeached doesn't change that since he admitted to it as part of deal to avoid further criminal charges. http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/stories/01/19/clinton.lewinsky/How quickly we forget! Can we just ship him off to Guantanamo now???
So that's why you trusted Obama with the power to detain American citizens indefinitely!

Ha! Being called a partisan hack by ekg! Is there a stronger word than irony for this? There must be... But you seem to have confused me with someone who is defending Newt, unless pointing out that he's not a felon is a partisan defense. I'm not supporting Newt for all of the multiple reasons you mentioned. But I love to correct Howey. I just don't have enough hours in the day for that though. So much gets through... So is Newt a felon?

To some who count conquests of women, sure. To others who see fucking your high school teacher as an aberration of society, not so much.
