It seems like you are looking at it exactly backwards.  I can't see how installing the government as the internet gatekeeper makes us more free.  Particularly when the FCC doesn't have the legal right to regulate internet providers as internet providers.  The courts called that months ago and the FCC is basically ignoring a court order.

Congress shall make no law...  it's really simple.
