This time he's hung an effigy of the president outside his church.

Quote
The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., has hanged an effigy of President Barack Obama from a gallows on its front lawn, a move DWOC pastor Terry Jones said was in response to Obama's recent endorsement of same-sex marriage, as well as his stance on abortion and what Jones called his "appeasing of radical Islam."

According to the Broward-Palm Beach New Times, the U.S. Secret Service is currently investigating Jones in response to the display.

"The Secret Service is aware of this incident and will conduct appropriate follow-up," Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary told the paper's "The Pulp" blog.

The effigy is suspended from a makeshift gallows with a noose of yellow rope, has a doll in its right hand and a rainbow-colored gay pride flag in its left.

Jones has confirmed the effigy is, in fact, the President:

Quote
“We have chosen to hang President Obama as a symbol of what America needs to do. We must remove him, we must vote him out of office,”

On his website (did you know he's running for President?) is the headline:

“Terry Jones on Obama: Hang 'Em High”!

Naturally, I knew the internet would be full of condemnation. Nah...

This, my friends, is what Teabaggers are all about...

Quote
at least this pastor has some cohonas.

Quote
It’s all about “free speech”. Good for him.

Quote
The pastor has it wrong. The Stars and Stipes should be replaced by a red flag with a hammer and sickle and Obama should be wearing one of those rags on his head that Yasser Arafagt used to wear.

Quote
Pastor Terry Jones has the biggest brass balls in America. Someone needed to do this.

Let him , but what he just did was lose tax exemption for his "CHRUCH". He is Preaching politics from the pulpit. So now his church pays taxes at least that's how it should be.

Agreed.  I stole this most awesome movie quote ever and changed it a bit.

“Wrong, sir! Wrong! Under section 37B of the contract signed by the *church*, it states quite clearly that all offers shall become null and void if - and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy: " I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained, et cetera, et cetera... Fax mentis incendium gloria cultum, et cetera, et cetera... Memo bis punitor delicatum!"

It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal! You stole taxes! You bumped into the ceiling of politics which now has to be washed and sterilized, so you get nothing, pay your taxes! You lose! Good day, sir!”

Organized religion is making trillions off the government. Yet the tax code is written in such an ambiguous way that if anyone tries to do anything about it they scream "RELIGIOUS PROSECUTION!".

I don't care how much Catholic Charities or other organizations help. Let them do it on their own.

"Catholic Charities received a total of nearly $2.9 billion from the US government in 2010. In comparison, its annual revenue was $4.67 billion. Only about $140 million came from donations from diocesan churches, the remainder coming from in-kind contributions, investments, program fees, and community donations."

So much for the BS that people would donate the difference needed for outreach/help.

That's just the Catholic Charities take. I wonder how much the Catholics make on tax breaks from the gubmint? Like sales tax, and property taxes? That will put the number in trillions.
