Is there something wrong in Grover Norquist's head?  I know today Harry Reid said about Boehner "I don't understand his brain".. So is there something wrong with the minds of the these two GOP'ers that they think not only did they win the election, but Obama's 'end the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2%" lost the election?

Listen to this smarmy weasel..

ALLEN: Okay, wait. You’re proposing that the debt ceiling be increased month by month?

NORQUIST: Monthly if he’s good. Weekly if he’s not.

who in the hell does he think he is?

Look

Hell, let's spell it out..

Overall, do you support or oppose...

Quote
...raising taxes on incomes over $250,000 a year:
    Support: 60
    Oppose: 37

...reducing deductions people can claim on their federal income taxes:
    Support: 44
   Oppose: 49

...raising the age for Medicare coverage from 65 to 67:
    Support: 30
    Oppose: 67

The American people voted.. They want the 'fiscal cliff' solved with ending the Bush tax cuts for 2% of the fucking population... make them permanat for the other 98%..

even Republicans wants this..

Quote
Cole had previously said that Republicans should sign off on a deficit-reduction deal that immediately extends tax rates for 98 percent of Americans and debate extending the rates for the top 2 percent later. His idea, though, was quickly shot down by Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

On Thursday Cole defended his stance, but also downplayed any split with his party's leadership, saying the disagreement was really about tactics.

Boehner is getting 98% of what he's asking for... Obama is negotiating by giving the GOP 98% fucking percent of  their 'Grover Pleagde".. But nooooooooooooooooo no, no fucking way dude.. This is Grover's plan, not Obama's.. not the people who elected Obama.. Gotta give Grover what he wants cuz he's all unelected and shit..

wtf?

It's insane... 98% agreement.. not good enough, Gimme it alllll or I'll burn his fucker down!! Jesus, even a psychotic bank robber with a bomb suit and 50 hostages would would make a deal giving him 98% of his demands!

I'm left feeling the same way Harry Reid does..

4 in the "I don't understand his brain," Reid told reporters.

It's the kid that can't except they lost. Can't except they didn't get their way. Can't except that something else, another idea, might be (or is) better than theirs.  It doesn't compute.

You'll notice that the wheelhouse of people he circulates in also do a fine job of ignoring or have an inability to accept reality.  The earth? 6,000 years old.  More use of food stamps and welfare have ZERO to do with Trickle Down failing miserably.  Workers who want (expect) a *livable* wage...are greedy.  Climate Change...hoax.  Moon Landing...hoax.  President Obama KNEW the Arab Spring would create the NEW OTTOMAN EMPIRE!  If the atom were never discovered...we'd still have The Bomb and nuclear power.

and now their Great Sage and Visionary has spoken..

Quote
On his program on Thursday, Limbaugh advised Republicans to completely withdraw in order to "find out just how willing [Obama] is to take the country over the cliff."

"The way to handle that, the way to call his bluff on this is to not negotiate with him and leave it up to him what happens," he said. "Very publicly walk away from the talks so that whatever happens vis-à-vis the cliff is perceived to happen -- well, the real point will be to flush Obama out, find out. I would suggest to people who really believe Obama is concerned about his second term and his legacy -- he doesn't want a recession -- the only way to flush that out is to come dangerously close to allowing it all to happen."

1st.. if the Pubs do this. Just turn their backs, refuse to negotiate and walk away.. um, how is it what happens Obama's fault exactly?

ex. There is a very large rock hanging over the head of 10 people.. 2 'strongmen' are holding it up.. One says  "We really need to work together on this to make this rock easier to hold and not let it fall and crush the 10 people below us"..the other says "No.That's it..I'm not working with you any longer.. I'm leaving".. and the rock falls as he does.. killing 8 out of the 10.. How is the one who walked away NOT to blame?

2nd. The smartest thing I heard was kinda mentioned in passing when I was waiting to pay for something in line yesterday.. a couple of guys in suits were waiting and talking about politics (it's seriously everywhere).. one guy said "I'm ok with Obama raising my taxes back to what they used to be anyway.. it's better than the loss I'll take if the assholes don't do something and stocks start to tumble again"..

Halleluiah..! yes, paying 4% more.. not on the whole $250K, but whatever you made over that $250K.. isn't going to kill you.. but another 2008 is you idiots!

I 'huh'd' at what the guy said.. with a smile.. he looked at me like 'wtf are you looking at' kinda dickishly.. (probably thought I was laughing at his 'liberal Marxist' self' or something).. and I said "No, sorry.. that's just the smartest thing I've heard in a month"..

Pushing the 'fiscal cliff' on this only damages us more.. if our ratings get downgraded again, we pay more in interests rates.. thus paying more money back that we don't have.. It forces 'small business' who might have just started to expand again.. to restrict growth again because holy shit, a recession the likes we've never seen is coming on.. and inflation will destroy us all..help-me!help Me!

as opposed to making Mitt Romney and the 1% pay the same thing in taxes his chauffeur pays?

This should be a no-brainer.. but it looks like the GOP is happy to give it all away in a doomsday scenario that will reduce their own wealth by trillions... instead of

The numbers look intimidating at first. Obama would raise the tax rate from 33 percent to 36 percent on household incomes between $247,000 and $398,350. (The ceiling for individuals is $200,000.) Any earnings above that would be taxed at 39.6 percent, compared to the current top level of 35 percent. For those above that ceiling, tax rates on capital gains and dividends would also climb, a key change since many retirees and wealthy individuals derive their income from investments.

But families with $250,000 to $300,000 in taxable income would on average owe an additional $199 a year, according to projections drawn from Census and IRS data by the progressive Citizens for Tax Justice. That works out to $16 a month, enough to reduce the number of afternoon stops at Starbucks but not so devastating that the beach vacation gets canceled.

The Tax Foundation calculator estimates that a typical two-child household with $400,000 in salary and investment income would pay $3,541 more in taxes under Obama. Those figures build to the point that a family earning $10 million to $20 million would see their bill balloon by almost $700,000.

the horror.. oh the ever loving horror of it all..

I make $300K a year.. OMG Obama will make me pay an addition $200 in  taxes.. Oh the injustice of it all! I might have to actually save those pennies I put in the 'give one/take one' penny jar at the 7/11 to get by..

I make $400K a year.. that damned socialist Kenyan is going to make me pay $3500 more at the end of the year.. there goes bubble gum for my children this year!"

UGH! I made $20million.. I'll have to pay $700K.. I don't know that I can live on just $19.3 million a year! In this economy? It'll be tough..

It's fucking insane..

and more insanity..

that's only 2% of the population... the other 98% get a break! When did democracy come to mean 100%? When did it go from a 'simple majority' to an overwhelming landslide, even absence isn't as reliable for birth control so sew your cooch closed instead, majority?

and if you want to get really really technical... everyone gets a break.. Because the Clinton tax was on the whole earning.. all of it. Obama's stays the same for everything from everyone making >$250K a year.. the rate increase only affect what you make above that!

but nope.. Rush says just walk away and let that rock kill everyone.. because it'll be Obama's fault? He'll get the blame..

no, no he won't... and worse, you'll fuck everyone in the mix by being go goddamn retarded!

yeah, I said it...fucking retarded!

They'll burn it to the ground before they allow President Obama to preside over the recovery of the United States.

Bingo!

That's it exactly..

whether it's because he's black.. and they can't let a black guy, the 1st black guy, work the country into a better shaped after it sank so far under an established Real American like George W. Bush..

or whether it's because he's a Democrat..

or whether it's both..

you're exactly right..

"They won the election, (but) they must have forgotten that Republicans continue to hold the majority in the House. But the president's idea of a negotiation is, 'Roll over and do what I ask,'" Boehner said.

uh..

Yes, "They" won the election.. so Yes that means YOU roll over and do what he asks yo to do! Why? Because he won the election and he won it on a "end the bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2%".. it's a no frigging brainer.. That's the whole idea of 'victory'...he gets the upper hand in any negotiation and you have to fucking take it because you lost!

Obama wasn't coy about what his plan was, he was vilified for it for months.. he gave 100's of speeches on it.. Clinton laid all out in a thing of beauty at the convention..  there was a question before the country, it was answered.. resoundingly!

oy vey..

what has to be drilled over and over from now until 2014 is this part..

"they must have forgotten that Republicans continue to hold the majority in the House"

That right there is what should not be forgotten.. want to know where the hell the problem is? It's right there.. the Republicans continue to fuck up the system...because they can't understand how elections work.

It really does boggle the mind that even with the sacred cows laid on the table...they still won't budge.  Now I'm wondering if it's not so much ideology...but if some of those big monied interests got something on them.  More and more of the formerly entrenched Republicans are coming around to compromise...but Boehner and Turtle head won't even consider it, no matter what's offered.  Very odd indeed.
