(Don't ask why this is here.  Wink)

Are the Republicans this desperate?

Quote
In the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, businessman and reality television star Donald Trump finished second behind only former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in a hypothetical 2012 Republican primary heat.

Trump’s 17 percent tied with former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee and put him well in front of other well- known GOP contenders like former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and former House speaker Newt Gingrich.

And, among those who identify themselves as tea party supporters, Trump is actually in the lead with 20 percent, followed by Romney at 17 percent and Huckabee at 14 percent.

What gives? How can someone who as recently as 2000 was preparing to run for president under the Reform Party banner and in 2007 touted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as “the best” suddenly be the hottest commodity in Republican politics?

This is why noone can take the Teabaggers seriously. They watch Sarah Palin's Alaska and fall in love with Sarah Palin, she who can't keep a job. They watch Celebrity Apprentice, and fall in love with a big mouth whose businesses are known for bankruptcy, whose been married more times than you can count on one hand, and whose hair, if stretched out, can reach from Sarah's porch to Alaska, baring a bald spot as large as Bristol's paycheck for pimping teen abstinenance while holding her bastard baby in her hands.

Bwaaaaaahahahahhahhahhaa!

The master plan's working!

Quote
Donald Trump, described on his Wikipedia page as "an American business magnate, socialite, author, and television personality," has become a significant player in the Republican campaign for president.

The new NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll shows him tied for second (with Mike Huckabee) with 17 percent of  the Republican vote. (Mitt Romney was first, with 21 percent.)

Trump has said he is seriously considering running and lately has made appearances on many television shows, including Daily Rundown, Morning Joe and, this morning, the Today Show.

We've put him to the Truth-O-Meter twice so far and found both of his claims to be incorrect.

In a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, he said that, "The people that went to school with (Barack Obama), they never saw him, they don't know who he is." We found that ridiculously false and rated it Pants on Fire.

We also checked his claim that South Korea doesn't pay the United States for troops. We rated that False.

We're checking another Trump claim and should have it posted later today.

ya know, if he wasn't a birther.. I'd take a good look at him. I like some of what he says, I like his tax plan (from his book)..I believe he would bring a certain 'shine' back to the country..

but dammit, that birther stuff and his 'new found' conservative extremism really hurts him for me...

Bwaaaaaahahahahhahhahhaa!

The master plan's working!

Dammit. I lol'd when I saw THIS:

Having written three books and dozens of columns debunking urban legends, myths, rumors, tall tales, half-truths and general crackpottery, I’m hardly one to jump on the “Aha!” bandwagon, but I’m starting to think Donald Trump is spearheading a vast conspiracy.

To get Barack Obama re-elected
.

Why, he’s even co-opting Sarah Palin. Last Saturday night, in a rare appearance on the Fox News Channel, Palin told Justice Jeanine Pirro she supports Trump’s heroic crusade to find Obama’s birth certificate.

“More power to him,” Palin told Pirro. “I appreciate that the Donald wants to spend his resources getting to the bottom of something that interests him and so many Americans.”

Oh my God. Can’t you people see what’s happening here? Now the Republican party’s very own rock star is backing the orange-faced billionaire in claiming the president of the United States wasn’t born in Hawaii — AND is only in office because because of a widespread conspiracy that dates back some 50 years and has remained intact only because literally hundreds of people, including health and government officials, teachers and average folks from both the U.S. and Indonesia (or is it Kenya?) have never broken ranks and come forward with the real truth.

Either that or Trump is a blithering fool, and Palin is simply pandering to the frighteningly high percentage of Americans that continue to buy into the Birther baloney.

but dammit, that birther stuff and his 'new found' conservative extremism really hurts him for me...

You and Palin need to stop rubbing your legs together on the rocking chair.  Wink

Palin, speaking in New York, called claims Obama was born in Kenya or is a secret Muslim "distractions" and "annoying."

I guess she wants to get back on the VP bandwagon again...

I'd hate to be a small animal around her house these days..

I'll tell you something I noticed this AM. I know why Palin like Trump so much..

Quote
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/12/trump-takes-aim-at-bill-cosby/

Trump takes aim at Bill Cosby

"I was surprised to hear him blabber, somewhat incoherently 'you run or shut up,'" Trump said in the statement. "The hatred was pouring out of his eyes when he said this. As I am sure he must know I cannot run until this season of Celebrity Apprentice ends."

he's the male version of her.. attack,attack,snark,attack,condescending,snark,attack..

That's why people hate her so much now, when she she decided she was the real victim in the AZ shooting and went on the attack to complain about being the real victim, people stepped back and said "WTF? Is that all you can do is snark and attack? STFU for once! Duda"

He's the same way.. really? Going after Dr. Huxtable?

why not just shoot Gilligan while you're at it Trump..

BTW, he's tied with Huck for number one in pols..

Quote
Washington (CNN) - Donald Trump is now tied with Mike Huckabee for first place when Republicans are asked who they support for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, according to a new national poll.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/12/cnn-poll-trump-tied-for-first-in-gop-horserace/

and he may just run as an indie.

Quote

I am very conservative," he added. "The concern is if I don't win [the GOP primary] will I run as an independent, and I think the answer is probably yes."

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/12/trump-now-considering-independent-run/

Here comes the circus..

On the birther stuff perhaps you saw the story recently where a man subject to recall hacked his way into finding Obama's SSN and that number is issued only to people born in CT. What HI has produced thus far is not the official certificate but a statement of birth which is subject to tom foolery. There's something to the hunt and smoke whether you guys want to admit or not. I wouldn't have a problem with Trump as president except that he seems to be more in love with himself and fame than the issues. He's had some business problems but he's not hurting and it would be primarily his sense of sound money matters that would make me think he would be good as pres. His personal life is not a factor for me, such as the many marriages. Why wouldn't a woman leave him, since they are all probably very plastic and interested in the small fortune they get when they leave.

BULLSHIT.  Cheesy

DOUBLE BULLSHIT* Grin

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/11/obama-social-security-num_n_609299.html

So the new new thing in Birtherism -- the hot conspiracy for interplanetary peyote-monkeys -- involves the complaint that President Barack Obama has a "Connecticut Social Security Number" -- which seems pretty pointless, unless I've been overlooking that section of the Constitution that renders people with such Social Security numbers ineligible to serve as President of the United States.

This whole matter came up in a White House briefing after Birther White House Correspondent Les Kinsolving peppered Robert Gibbs with questions about the matter that were raised by interplanetary peyote-monkey digest WorldNetDaily:

FaFa: We are striving to maintain the integrity our political section. Please do not cite WorldNetDaily as a viable source in this section of the forum. Thank you in advance.

*FYI: My SSAN is from the state of Maryland. Why? I've never lived there. Answer: When I was a teenager living in Germany, my father applied for SSAN's for us kids. Since we were government, the SSAN issued came out of Maryland, as it was for hundreds of thousands of children living overseas.

Since Obama lived abroad as a child, wouldn't this seem entirely plausible?

It's more settled now for me and NBC is doing much better than I would have thought. I didn't remember that the story came from WND. I was expressing my honest concerns and you successfully informed me. I realize that this is something you can help me with as I have very poor radar when it comes to news sites at least in some cases. I don't cling to these things and never let go. I also had the false memory of the Kenyan phone call without ever having heard the rest of the call. Thanks. Wink

Washington (CNN) – Proving once again that Donald Trump knows a bit about publicity, the business man and real estate mogul will make an announcement on the season finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" about his intentions on running for the White House.

On the final episode of the popular TV reality show, Trump "plans to give an announcement date" for his decision on whether he'll make a formal bid for the Republican presidential nomination, senior Trump adviser Michael Cohen confirms to CNN.

I watched the Trump interview on Hannity tonight, and my conclusion?

You're right.  Trump is playing the presidential bait for promotion.

That's why he's rich!
