Isn't that what the Republicans have been saying? Then how come this Republican sends out a big survey to his constituents and doesn't even mention jobs?

Wild guess. A banal survey which could have been identical 30 plus years ago is a way of acting concerned without any accountability as opposed to mentioning a real and present danger:job loss.
dailykos looks interesting, hadn't heard of that one.
